Bonus tip: Try to read aloud. So, you can use your three senses at once; thus increasing your ability to learn.

2. Practice:

Reading can help to improve your literary skills but the art of speaking effluent English can only be attained by practice. So, Practice! Practice! Practice! A powerful way to improve your spoken is by speaking English with natives. If you live in a non-English country then try out hello talk. It is a completely free app with diverse features. It provides you with a platform to interact with the native speakers and communicate with them. Using such apps/websites has a tremendous impact on our English fluency and skills!

3. Listen and watch:

Ok enough nerdy stuff; now let’s get to the fun side of learning!

I am not joking, but watching English movies can help you master English; especially the casual style of conversation and vocabulary.

Listening is a powerful way to learn English. Play a podcast while you hustle with your chores. You might think you’re not listening, but in reality your brain is paying close attention to the white nose in the background. Listening also helps to comprehend different accents of English. This cool and easy style of listening is called passive learning.

4. Vocabulary diary:

Vocabulary makes your language ironic and enhances your power to express. Therefore, whenever you learn new words by using methods mentioned above. I strongly recommend you to write them; preferably in a pocket diary. Moreover, try to write at least two words every day.

After a week, start revising five words regularly; whether you’re standing for grocery or travelling in public transport. Close your eyes and whisper the words with their meanings. If you are successful: great! If not, better luck next time! Remember to revise previous words every Friday.

5. Think in English:

The largest obstacle for a bilingual person to speak fluent English is switching between languages. When they speak English, first they must translate their thoughts to English in their minds. This slackens their fluency. Thus, the problem lies in the mind rather than the tongue itself.

But, what’s the solution? Think in English. Think about your chores, work, studies etc. in English. It might be challenging in the beginning, but as the saying goes: practice makes perfect!
