“Earning money is a skill that can be learned only by investing time and knowledge”

Money is something which most of us desire. So now, it’s time to quench your thirst for wealth, ambition and success. In this article I will recommend you best books I read to reach financial independence.

1. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

A young gentleman embarks on a journey to seek answer of a question asked for centuries: How to become rich. He interviewed 500 richest and most successful people in the world at his time. His name? Napoleon Hill. In his book, Think and Grow Rich; he points out the similarities between all the billionaires he interviewed that eventually made them successful and thus, frickin’ rich! Secondly, he compared the habits of the people who conquer and those who lose. Thirdly, he gives a thirteen step plan to grow rich which is based on his 25 year research. Anyone can become wealthy by following it by investing time and work. Though, the most interesting part about this book is the “secret to success”, emphasized by the author.

But the secret is never particularly named in the book and it’s just left there, so only true seekers with ‘burning desire’ can find it.

Still, it is evident in every chapter, on every page of the book.

2. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

If you often wonder how to earn money when you belong to a middle class family and your parents aren’t supportive. Then, this book is definitely for you. In this book, author encounters the same circumstances and gets financial literacy by his friend’s dad whom he called his “rich dad” and thus, his biological dad was his “poor dad”. In this book Robert Kiyosaki, emphasizes the difference between the mindset of two of them which actually made them responsible for their present situation! Rich dad taught him many lessons about money by his own experiences while poor dad told him only to focus on his education. In this book, Kiyosaki shares the story of his life when he was struggling to attain financial literacy and earn money. According to him, to become rich we mustn’t give a damn about our degree but instead focus on our mindset, skill and knowledge. Moreover, he informs us about many ways in which we can get wealthy. So, this book is perfect for you in many ways.

3. Millionaire next door by Thomas J. Stanley

Few books in a century are perception changing. Millionaire Next Door is one of them. In this book, most fascinating facts are revealed about the millionaires through years of research. The purpose of Stanley was same as Napoleon but their way of approaching their question was quite different. Firstly, Stanley searched for millionaires in fancy neighborhoods but at last was defeated. Then, he discovered an amazing fact: most millionaires live like common people with common lifestyle. You may not know that person living next door is a millionaire! According to the author most millionaires saves huge amount of their income to increase their wealth. Hence they know the difference between income and wealth. A person earning 70 k might be richer than a 700 k earner. Read the book to discover many more fascinating and effective facts about millionaires. All of it is a slow process but yet sweet and dazzling.

4. The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham

If you often wonder how people like Jack Bogle or Warren Buffet got filthy rich then go to the nearest store and immediately buy a copy of “The Intelligent Investor”. It is a legendary and probably most famous book in the world of business and stock market. In it, investors buy shares of the company which runs low in the stock market at the moment, but in the future their shares will rise. Thus, today they will buy the shares on low price but tomorrow they will sell it with triple profit. All of this is based only on investors’ assumptions. It is incredibly slow yet sweet and dazzling process. After all, “some things take time”

5. Richest Man in Babylon by George Samuel Clason

Once Great poet Samuel Coleridge said, “If we learn from history what lessons it might teach us!” I think this quote goes perfectly with Clason’s book. How? Read my review to find out:

If you’re a history nerd or wants to become filthy rich then this book’s probably for you. It is regarded as a classic and one of the most interesting books for financial guidance. Since its publication, it has sold 2 million copies worldwide! Though, the flashiest part of this book is its time period: whopping 2000 BC. The book actually rotates around three characters: Kobbi, Bansir and Arkad. Kobbi and Bansir worked hard all their lives yet they were poor. Thus, they go to seek help from Arkad: Richest man of Babylon. Arkad teaches them most valuable lessons from his own experience.

I found three of his rules most compelling and beneficial:

1. Pay yourself first by saving ten percent of your monthly income

2. Eliminate procrastination from your life

3. Make money work for you than working for money!

Arkad also taught them his “Seven Cures” and “five laws of gold”. Read this glorious book to discover more about them and to dive deep in the ecstatic past of humankind.
